Labradoodle
Our Labradoodles are Labrador crossed with either Standard Poodle or Miniature Poodle. Both breeds are very sociable and intelligent dogs. Generally these are first crosses, which ensure healthier pets but the coat may vary. Like all crossbred dogs they cannot have pedigree papers, but we ensure our breeding stock is both genetically and temperament tested.
Some Labradoodles have a Labrador-like coat with wispy hairs, and others may have full wool coats like the poodle – and every possibility in between. Colours are usually gold, cream, black, and occasionally chocolate. Coat length is usually obvious when the pup is a few weeks old.
While the woollier the coat the less shedding there will be, there is no such thing as a non-allergenic dog. Humans react to proteins such as dander and saliva on their pet’s coat. A longer-haired dog may produce less dander, but no one can guarantee allergy-free coats.
Miniature Labradoodles grow about small Kelpie size, and Standard Labradoodles grow about Labrador size. They are active and can be destructive when young, but if given attention and obedience training they make superb family pets.
